The project aims at alleviating poverty by improving the living conditions of the most impoverished families in Upper Egypt villages and providing temporary job opportunities for the unemployed from the geographical scope of the project by rehabilitating the homes of the deserving families.
The project is working to improve the infrastructure and raise the efficiency of the homes of 350 extremely poor families in 5 villages in Sohag Governorate, giving priority to female-headed households or individuals with disabilities. The project is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity (the umbrella of the Sakan Karim Initiative) and Misr El Kheir Foundation as an implementing partner and a 23% shareholder of the value of LE 13 million, of which LE 10 million is Sawiris contribution.
