Gouna Technical Nursing Institute Scholarship Program

The Gouna Technical Nursing Institute (GTNI) was established by the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development in November 2009, in collaboration with Lawrence Memorial / Regis College in the USA. The GTNI aims to become a leading center in the field of nursing in the region. It offers a two-and-a-half-year degree in nursing in addition to 3 months of internship, under the supervision of Egypt’s Ministry of Higher Education. The academic system in the GTNI is fully in English with the availability of an intensive English proficiency course in the preparatory semester. Sawiris Foundation has always prided itself with ensuring quality education, both traditional and nontraditional, is accessible to everyone. One of our goals is to ensure all students have an accessible and inclusive environment to learn.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • To be an Egyptian national residing in Egypt (preference will not be given to dual nationality holders)
  • High school score qualifying for admission is required as defined by National Placement Office
  • Passing all admission tests, which include: English language exam, mathematics, personal interview, and psychomotor exam
  • Applicants should undergo medical examination to prove that they are free from any communicable disease or any medical condition jeopardizing their future career as health care givers
  • Eligible students for this grant must graduate from GTNI with an overall grade of “Very Good”
  • The scholarships are awarded based on financial need as well as merit and character demonstrated through academic excellence, extracurricular activities, and social behavior

Application Process:

  • National Placement Office: Recent high school graduates (Science Section):

  • The interested candidates apply to get admitted to GTNI through the official website of the Ministry of Higher Education - GTNI's code is 995

  • Candidates should receive their card confirming their eligibility to be placed at GTNI - Candidates should contact the GTNI Student Affairs Office, which is authorized to provide information about: personal interviews and pre-test dates, as well as the list of required documents

  • Direct Enrollment:

  • Candidates who are already enrolled in colleges and wish to transfer to GTNI should apply directly to GTNI through contacting the Student Affairs Office

  • Interested candidates should also be holders of a high school certificate (Science Section) & provide transcripts of their high school and the higher education institutions in which they are enrolled

Admission and Enrollment Committee:

The committee consists of GTNI’s Dean, Head of Academic and Student Affairs department, assigned Faculty Members and teachers, and Student Affairs Officer.
