Your first step to studying technical specializations in Germany

Sawiris Foundation is offering 8 scholarships for brilliant high school graduate to enroll in the Preparatory Year Program in Egypt, offered by the Goethe Institute in Cairo in cooperation with the Technical University of Berlin. This is a full-time program, which exclusively offers a technical specialization course that qualifies applicants for entry into German universities in the fields of mathematics, natural sciences, and technology.

Sawiris Foundation has always prided itself with ensuring quality education, both traditional and nontraditional, is accessible to everyone. One of our goals is to ensure all students have an accessible and inclusive environment to learn.

The main objective of the one-year program is to achieve the necessary German language requirements to study in Germany after the completion of the preparatory year in Egypt. In addition, the scholarship provides necessary preparation for the preparatory year’s examination and requirements for enrolling in a technical or scientific degree in Germany. The program also includes science trips and intercultural sessions on policies, nutrition and equality in German society.

Eligibility criteria:

• The applicant must have a certificate of completion of his high school degree in mathematics or science.
• The desire to join this program to then obtain a bachelor’s degree in Germany in the fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences or technology.
• The applicant must have obtained a level B1 in their German language proficiency exam.
• To be an Egyptian national residing in Egypt (preference will not be given to dual nationality holders).
• The scholarships are awarded based on financial need as well as merit and character demonstrated through academic excellence, extracurricular activities, and social behavior.
• Obtaining a high school diploma from governmental, experimental schools as well as STEM schools with a Thanaweya Amma degree. With a total of no less than 85% for Thanaweya Amma and 80% for STEM students.
• Must be graduating from high-school within the same year he/she is applying for the preparatory program.

• During this evaluation it will be determined whether the preparatory year is necessary for you to study in one of the universities in Germany.
