Sawiris Distinction Scholarship for Public High School Graduates

The Sawiris Distinction Scholarship is a fully-funded scholarship providing up to 50 opportunities for outstanding Egyptian students to obtain high-quality university education at leading Egyptian universities in Egypt. The scholarship provides an outstanding academic experience for students in various important fields to support the future of the Egyptian economy, which qualifies them to obtain competitive job opportunities after graduation.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- To be an Egyptian national residing in Egypt (preference will not be given to dual nationality holders)
- To be a graduate of Egyptian Thanwya Amma public schools in 2022/2023 with a score no less than 90%.
- Proof of applying for the course and meeting all the criteria set by the university they will be applying to.
- Applicants must not have lived abroad for more than three years.
- Priority will be given to those with demonstrated financial need, academic excellence, and engagement in extracurricular activities.
- Preference will be given to Takaful and Karama Program beneficiaries.
- Applicant must be committed to work in Egypt for 3 years after graduation and completing military service, when applicable.
Selection as a nominee for the Sawiris Distinction Scholarship does not guarantee university acceptance. Applicants must apply to their desired universities from the list of selected universities and programs.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
- Personal Photo
- A copy of your birth certificate
- A copy of your national ID
- A copy of your guardians national ID (noting that your guardian will sign the scholarship contract)
- A copy of your first secondary grade transcripts
- A copy of your second secondary grade transcripts
- A recommendation letter from one of your school teachers
- A copy of certificates of academic excellence, training courses, and community activities, if any
- A copy of your English language proficiency test, if any
- Copy of integrated service card for people with disabilities (if applicable)
- Takaful and Karama program proof (if applicable)
- Initial acceptance letter from the university you wish to enroll in through the scholarship
- Parental consent for you to join the scholarship
APPLICATION PROCESS:
Students who are interested to obtain the scholarship opportunity should follow the below steps:
- Apply for the academic program of the Partner University. Student must meet the minimum admission requirements at the partner university of your interest.
- Complete the online application for the Sawiris Distinction Scholarship using the following link: (Link will be available soon)
- Include University letter of admission in the list of required documents in the application. Provide Student Placement Number in the application. Sawiris Foundation will check scores of shortlisted applicants, using placement numbers.
