Given the increasing pressure of life demands and the social and economic changes facing the Alexandrian community, there is a growing need for home health care providers to care for the elderly and people with special physical needs trained on the model of Care with Love in Cairo.   

Objectives:  

This project is the first attempt at franchising Care with Love and transferring the know-how of CWL from Cairo to Alexandria. It aims at spreading the philosophy of Care with Love and introducing its technical systems in caring for the elderly and the sick in Alexandria. This will be achieved by training and employing 5 trainers and supervisors, who at their turn will train 80-100 home health care providers. An employment agency will also be created to place program graduates.

Partners:

Evangelical Association for Serving People, an NGO founded in 1966 with the aim of providing funerary services. In 2002, the Association added new activities to promote comprehensive development for all sectors in the society including children and mothers and through providing health services. The Association is the host of the Care With Love Program in Alexandria.

Care With Love, (refer to Care with Love and Improving the Profession of Home Health Care Providers) in this project  it will be providing technical support to the Evangelical Association for Serving People by transferring the successful experience of Care with Love Cairo to Alexandria. CWL will supervise the entire initiative including the training, the creation of an employment office and will work with the hospitals who are providing the practical training while gradually withdrawing from the project.

Asile International and other geriatric centers and hospitals, places where youth will undertake their practical training.  

Project Status:

The premises for the training and for the employment agency have been prepared. Currently, 4 trainees are undertaking their training on the Care With Love curriculum and TOT to represent the core team of trainers for the program. The transfer of expertise from the CWL team in Cairo to the team in Alexandria is ongoing.
