Ibrahim Shihata (Sawiris Foundation) 2006 Scholarship Applications are invited for the Ibrahim Shihata (Sawiris Foundation) Scholarship, covering full fees and living expenses for one candidate to complete a three-year Ph.D. program in International Economic and Development Law, at Queen Mary, University of London. This Scholarship is funded by the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, and is managed by the London Forum, International Financial Law Unit of Queen Mary College London's Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS). A Selection Committee will assess all applications and conduct interviews in Cairo. Eligibility: 1. Egyptian national residing in Egypt, and committed to return to Egypt following completion of this Ph.d. 2. Hold a university degree in law or a related discipline (e.g., political science, economics) with strong law component. 3. Proof of academic excellence and relevant experience or research. 4. Satisfying Queen Mary, University of London entry requirements for the M.Phil. /Ph.D. program in law (refer to www.qmul.ac.uk/postgraduate/apply/index.html). 5. Demonstrate proficiency and command of the English language. 6. Demonstrate inability to finance a PhD abroad from own resources.
